Overview

Research indicates women are 2.5 times more likely than men to report feeling “a great deal of apprehension” about negotiating. This can be attributable in part to women’s tendency to underestimate their own value and unfamiliarity with negotiating skills and strategies. In this one-day workshop, you learn how to prepare to negotiate, build your case, present your request and clinch the deal. We will spend the afternoon devoted to a focused, “hands on” case study on how to successfully negotiate compensation. You will gain practical skills to achieve negotiated outcomes that leave both parties feeling satisfied.

Goals and Learning Objectives

On successful completion, participants will:

  • Learn how women are at a disadvantage when they don’t negotiate
  • Understand negotiation strategies and tactics
  • Strengthen negotiation skills through the use of case studies and role plays
  • Prepare a strong opening
  • Recognize positioning and “turning” moves in a salary negotiation
